Actor Mammooty and Mohanlal got their padmashri award on year 1998 and 2001 respectively.
Currently Actor Mohanlal's name was listed in padmabhushan award nominees by kerala state.
Since Actor Mammooty is a solely supporter of CPI(M) and he is the chairman of the party channel KAIRALI, the both congress and BJP in kerala are not included Mammooty for the award nominees.
Since congress party in kerala have soft corner for Actor Mohanlal everytime, Because Mohanlal got Col. award in the time of congress ministry (Malayalee AK Antony is the Defence Minister at that time.) But the actor doesn't show his support for any party. Note that he campaigned for his colleague actor Innocent (CPI(M)) to show his neutral base in Politics.
But this time congress come ahead with this padmabhushan list to woo Mohanlal to congress party. But center is ruling by the BJP government their plan is to drag mohanlal to BJP by using their new malayalam channel 'JANAM'.
Since JANAM is BJP channel in kerala and the program director for the channel is Director Priyadarshan.
So BJP is trying to get Mohanlal for their promotion activities by using priyadarshan.
If everything goes well, and if he please the center govt, he might get the PADMABHUSHAN AWARD...
